FortiusOne
Provider of next-generation intelligent mapping services
FortiusOne was spun out of George Mason University in 2005 by a group of recognized experts in economics, geospatial analysis and visualization, and risk management. Initially, FortiusOne was a successful consulting company, applying its deep expertise in geographic analysis and visualization to the needs of clients such as the Department of Homeland Security. The emergence of Web mapping solutions inspired FortiusOne to invent new technologies to address the limitations of traditional analytic tools and the challenges in finding adequate geographic data to solve real-world problems. Joined by successful pioneers from the networking, Web services, and social networking markets, FortiusOne pursues its mission to interconnect and share the World’s geographic data.
FortiusOne leads the market towards the next generation of Web mapping. Its breakthrough Intelligent Mapping technologies offer rich information visualization on maps and unprecedented access to geographic data. FortiusOne innovations include: high-speed Web-based geographic analysis tools, a flexible and scalable Web services platform supporting the special needs of geographic data, and an innovative application of social networking techniques to geographic knowledge creation.
Going beyond pushpins for layering the locations of people, places, and things, Intelligent Maps help people answer questions, gain insights, and make decisions. FortiusOne’s GeoIQ Web service platform, GeoCommons Web destination site, and FortiusOne Services unleash a burgeoning new world of geographic information and knowledge to users and developers in commercial, government, and consumer markets.
FortiusOne is headquartered in Washington, D.C. In-Q-Tel initially invested in FortiusOne in May 2007. For more information about FortiusOne, please visit www.fortiusone.com
