SYSTEMS ADMINISTRATOR
Job Description:
The Systems Administrator reports to the Vice President of Information Technology (IT) and works with a variety of other members of the IT Department, IQT colleagues, clients, and partners. As such, the IT Department works in a rapidly changing environment, providing operational solutions to meet the business and development requirements of the organization. The Systems Administrator must have the ability to think through problems and come up with innovative solutions. The appropriate candidate must be able to work autonomously and with limited guidance. He or she is responsible for performing difficult and complex assignments related to analyzing existing systems and defining, designing, and developing new system requirements in support of In-Q-Tel or its client products or services.
Responsibilities:
Responsibilities include, but are not limited, to the following activities:
- Support of corporate applications, internal corporate servers, VPN based network, and user desktops.
- Planning, design and implementation of corporate infrastructure including state of the art network, business support applications such as messaging scheduling, web development, and video conferencing.
- Handling all aspects of systems administration such as troubleshooting, e-mail, backup, archiving, disaster recovery and security.
Qualifications:
Experience in the following areas:
- BA or BS degree or equivalent work experience
- 5 years of desktop or server support experience
- Expertise with some or all of the following IT functions: Perimeter Devices, Microsoft Exchange 2007, Unix administration and/or Windows XP, 2003, 2008 skills
- Broad understanding of technologies across multiple platforms
- Hands on experience implementing new technologies
- Knowledge of networking, routing protocols and management configuration of Cisco networking equipment.
- Strong learning eagerness and desire to work on a team is required.
